Hi! My name is Amber Mitchell. I graduated in 2013 with my Bachelor of Social Work from Illinois State University and in 2015 with my Master of Social Work. I also went back to school in 2020 and obtained my Post-MSW PEL in 2021 from Aurora University. I gained my CADC in 2013 and my LCSW in 2019. I have a mixture of experience, I started my career in corrections as a substance abuse clinician at Sheridan Correctional Center for 2.5 years and also worked as a state social worker at Sheridan Correctional Center for 2 years. I also have experience in outpatient/intensive outpatient therapy both community mental health and private practice. My current role is at a high school, as a school social worker, where I have been for 3 years. My first year I worked as a typical school social worker, with an alpha spread and special education caseload. For the past two years, I have worked as the Substance Abuse Clinician and providing interventions for students with substance abuse concerns. I have worked with all ages and genders. I primarily have worked with individuals with dual diagnosis but now have been more exposed to individuals who have developmental and intellectual disabilities. This new exposure has been amazing growth for my career and I work in the summer specifically with this population. It is a true joy!
In my personal life, I have a teen daughter who plays a lot of travel/club sports, which keeps me extremely busy. I absolutely love being outside and summer is my favorite season, close second being fall. I love to travel and taking trips throughout the year. I am an animal lover and would have a lot of animals if I win the lottery!
Cost: $25 per person per group. Cost if unable to attend a group and want to meet an individual the week the group is missed is $40.

Best Practice Standards in Social Work Supervision
All current or interested LCSW clinicians providing supervision should review and uphold the standards set by The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB)
